The trend in funeral ceremony is changing. More
and more, the Baby Boomer generation chooses to celebrate death.
They prefer a party. They want their funeral to be fun as they go
out in style. Far from the doom and gloom perception I experienced
as an adolescent of the 1940’s in a small southern town. Today, unlike
the Victorian
Death Rituals your options have been increased by
the inspiration of changes
as a result of
civilization’s social and scientific advancements. Though you can still have a conventional funeral
ceremony but there are many
Alternatives.
You can also have a do-it-yourself funeral, a fireworks ceremony, an
ocean voyage ceremony, a sea burial, blast
your ashes into space, online memorials, and a freeze
dry departure or donate your remains to science with no
funeral at all. It’s your choice. First it is important to understand that funerals
are for the living – for those who will suffer the trauma of
losing a loved one. It is through the funeral process that emotional
needs are served for those who grieve. A funeral is similar to other
major lifetime ceremonies, such as a graduation, a wedding, or a
baptism. A funeral is a rite of passage by which we pay tribute to
an important milestone in our lives. Not considering the final disposition, whether it is burial or
cremation, funerals serve a purpose: Until a bereaved person truly accepts the fact that a death has
occurred, little progress can be made in resolving his or her grief.
In some cases viewing the body of the deceased can fulfill specific
psychological needs of surviving family members. In other cases, a
review of Grief resources may be
helpful. Or, it might be necessary for the bereaved to consult experts in
Grief
counseling. Planning a funeral usually includes
Flowers
as an expression of care and an
Eulogy,
fitting and special for the loved one we’ve lost. And, a lasting
Memorial
can sometimes be the perfect epilogue to the farewell chapter of a loved
one passed on. Caskets and urns
may be part of the plan, depends on which funeral option you chose. Regardless of the plan, except for no funeral and donating
the remains, there will be a price for carrying out the plan. Owing
to the high cost of funerals, if your deceased loved one doesn’t have burial insurance or other assets to pay
their final expenses, you may want to apply for a
Funeral
loan.
Some lenders will even consider less than perfect credit. |
